Stephen E. McKenna
Stephen E. McKenna, 90, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 2, 1919, in Ste. Sophie, Quebec, Canada to John L. and Etta Mae (Kirk) McKenna. He was one of 14 children. Stephen attended school in Canada and was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He married Margaret F. Barrett on April 28, 1943, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Stephen and Margaret then moved to Yonkers, NY, before settling in at Wappinger Falls, NY, where they would spend 50 wonderful years. Stephen spent his entire working career for Lone Star Industries and the United States Postal Service. He retired from both places in the mid 1980's. Stephen was a devout Catholic had been an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Wappingers Falls. In addition to Margaret, his wife of 67 years, Stephen is survived by three children, Edward John McKenna (and wife Connie), Fran A. Diegel, and Michael S. McKenna; six grandchildren, Shaun, Kelly, Steven, Scott, Chris (and wife Cinzia), and Ken; three great grandchildren, Bree, Karsen and Kenna.
