Playing Outside!

It's warming up here in our corner of the U.S. - which is nice. These pictures were actually taken last weekend (Feb 2nd). I have figured out a way to keep Beary nice and close while outside so that she doesn't get lost.

She loves, loves, LOVES playing outside. She loves her swings, has cooled somewhat on the slide (because there might be BUGS on the slide) and loves to throw pinecones off the end of the dock.
We tried the tricycle again this weekend, but she just wants me to push her - she can't seem to get the hang of the pedals - either that or she doesn't yet care to. We'll try again this weekend, weather permitting!

Learning More & More Every Day

The red chair (previously featured in a post where she was stanging on the arms of the chair) has been banished to the laundry room for the time being.

Undeterred, Bree looks for others means of leverage. The tricycle is out in the garage, as she started standing on the handle bars to try to reach things. I prefer for Bree to lose her teeth "the old fashioned way" rather than by having them all knocked out at age 2 because she can't figure out how to keep her tricycle from rolling . . .

Bree has figured out how to stand her rocking chair on it's side so that she has a tall verticle end to stand on.

(Yeah, that's Judge Judy on again in the background).

I hesitate to admit defeat here, after all, she IS only two. But the time has come to admit that this girl is smarter than me. The time is going to come when she's going to totally outsmart me. I think I have at least another two years before that happens, but it's coming. Oh yeah - it's coming.

Bree's Little Kitchen of Horrors

At least Beary isn't alone in the suffering. Bluebeary is now subject to the same torture.

Oh, the humanity!

Crazy Hair

The good news is that Bree's hair is growing.

The bad news is that it is somewhat uncontrollable.

Short of throwing her in the bath and washing her hair before we left for the day, there way no way that I could get this hair to lay down on her head.

These pictures were taken at night, right after dinner, so you can see that her hair was like this ALL DAY.

She moved too quickly for me in this next picture, and you can see Judge Judy on in the background. (Although in all honesty it could be Judge Joe Brown. We watch him, too.) We like to watch Judge Judy when we eat. Well, I know we shouldn't eat with the tv on, but really, Bree tends to eat more food when she's eating in front of the tv. I'm not sure why this is, but she'll clean her plate and ask for more if she's got something to focus on (other than the food in front of her). Given that I'm always trying to fatten her up, I'm happy to have her eat in front of the tv. This practice will come back to bite me in the behind in a few years, so at least I'm going on record early.

Bree has also dicsovered the joys of chocolate milk, and it's all she'll drink these days. Again, maybe not the best overall for her diet, but it gets calories in her, and that's what I'm all about these days.

It does appear, though, that Bree will have Scott's beautiful curly hair. Mine was curly when I was a child, too, but now it's more wavy than curly. Scott's hair still has plenty of curl to it, when he grows it out a bit.
Other new things that Bree has discovered: the joys of cleaning (which does NOT include picking up after herself), singing her ABCs, counting to 4 (but skipping #3) and Barney.
